saptamo'dhyāyaḥ

prathamaḥ pādaḥ|

atrāha| bhagavatoktastriskandho'yaṃ mārgaḥ| tatra śīlaskandhaḥ karmādhyāye vistareṇa vyākhyātaḥ| samādhiskandho'ṣṭame'vyāye vyākhyāyiṣyate| prajñāskandha idānīṃ vyākhyātavyaḥ| so'yamārabhya-

[476] loko'yaṃ tattvasaṃmugdho jñeyatattve pramuhyati|
tāni jñānāni vakṣyāmi svarūpādiprapañcataḥ||

kāni punastāni kiyanti veti ? taducyate-

[477] jātidravye nirākṛtya pratipakṣādyapekṣayā|
tadbhedo daśadhā prokto dharmajñānādināmabhiḥ||

jātyāśrayaṇe khalvekatraprasaṅgo dravyāśrayaṇe hyānantyaṃ taccāśakyaṃ vaktum| tasmādubhayametadupekṣya yayāpekṣyayā daśa bhavanti yacca teṣāṃ svalakṣaṇaṃ sāmānyalakṣaṇaṃ ca tatsarvaṃ vistareṇa vakṣyāmaḥ||

tatra tāvat-
[478] dharmānvayaviśeṣye dve duḥkhādyaiśca catuṣṭayam|
dve saṃvṛtyanyacittābhyāṃ kṣayeṇājanmanā dvayam||

dharmānvayajñāne khalu dharmānvayābhyāmeva viśeṣya(ṣye)te| duḥkhādīni tu catvāri svaviṣayaireva caturbhirāryasatyaiḥ viśeṣyante| saṃvṛtyā paracittena ca saṃvṛtiparacittajñāne viśeṣyete| kṣayeṇāpunarutpattyā ca kṣayānutpādajñānadvayaṃ viśiṣyate|

athavā
[479] pratipakṣa[pra]yogābhyāṃ svabhāvākāragocaraiḥ|
tadvyavasthā niboddhavyā kṛtyenopacayeṇa(na) vā||

tatra kāmadhātuvipakṣapratipakṣo dharmajñānam| rūpārūpyāvacaravipakṣapratipakṣo'nvayajñānam| prayogataḥ paracittajñānaṃ cittaṃ jñāsyāmīti tatprayogāt| svabhāvataḥ saṃvṛtijñāna(naṃ) pipīlikādiṣvapi tadbhāvāt| satyākārairgocaraiścatvāri jñānāni| kṛtyataḥ kṣayajñānaṃ kṛtyaparisamāpteḥ| hetūpacayato'nutpādajñānaṃ sarvairaṇā(nā)sravairjñānaistatsabhāgahetūpacayāt||

[480] dhātusatyārthacitteṣu jātidhvaṃsāprajanmanoḥ|
saṃmohasya nivṛttyarthaṃ tadbhedo daśadhaiva vā||

tatra dhātusaṃmoho dvābhyāṃ dharmānvayajñānābhyāṃ nivartyate| satyasaṃmohaścaturbhiḥ duḥkhajñānādibhiḥ| arthasaṃmohaḥ saṃvṛtijñānena| cittasaṃmohaḥ paracittajñānena| jātisaṃmohaḥ kṣayajñānena| punarutpattisaṃmoho'nutpādajñāneneti daśaiva jñānāni bhagavānavocat| nātibhūyāṃsi nālpīyāṃsīti||

atra punaḥ
[481 ab.] parijñātādyavagamaḥ duḥkhādau kṣayadhī phalam|

“dukhaṃ parijñātaṃ samudayo me prahīṇaḥ,................

..............miti vādavipakṣeṇa vā anārambhiṇāṃ saṃsāreṇaiva śuddhiriti vādavipakṣeṇa pratipadākāraḥ| laukikavairāgyamārgamārasaṃjñāvipakṣeṇa vā anātyantikavairāgyagamanavipralambhāt sarvatrābahumānavipakṣeṇa nairyāṇikākāraḥ||

athākāro [nā]ma ka eṣa dharmaḥ| kiṃ vā tenākāryata iti ? tadubhayaṃ nirdiśyate-

[482 cd.] dhīrākāraḥ sadākāryaṃ sākārāstvavalambinaḥ||

prajñā khalvākāra ityucyate| na tarhi prajñā sākārā bhavati dvayoḥ prajñayoḥ yaugapadyābhāvāt| tataśca na sarve caitasikāḥ sākārāḥ prāpnuvanti| na khalu brū maḥ prajñāsaṃprayogātsākārā vaikākārā vā| kiṃ tarhi ? svavṛttibhirākaraṇādālambanagrahaṇādityarthaḥ|

kiṃ punastadātkā(kā)ryam ? sadākāryam| yatkiñcid dravyataḥ prajñaptito vā vidyate ya(ta)dākāryate| cittacaittāstu sākārāḥ viṣayagrāhiṇa ityarthaḥ||

kiṃ punarjñānaṃ kati smṛtyupasthānāni ?

[483] paricittamatistrīṇi dharmasaṃjñaṃ nirodhadhīḥ|
catvāri smṛtyupasthānānyato'nyajjñānamiṣyate||

paracittajñānaṃ khalu trīṇi vedanācittadharmākhyāni| nirodhajñānaṃ dharmasmṛtyupasthānam| paracittanirodhajñānābhyāmanyāni jñānāni catvāri smṛtyupasthānāni||

atha katamasya jñānasya kati jñānānyālambanam ?

[484] mārgadharmānvayajñānagocaro navaśo dhiyaḥ|

mārgadharmānvayajñānānāṃ pratyekaṃ navajñānānyālambanam| mārgajñānasya tāvatsaṃvṛtijñānaṃ hitvā| dharmajñānasyānvayajñānam| anvayajñānasya dharmajñānam|

duḥkhahetudhiyordve dve

duḥkhasamudayajñānayoḥ saṃvṛtijñānaṃ sāsravaṃ ca pari(ra)cittajñānamālambanam|

caturṇāṃ daśa

saṃvṛtiparacittakṣayānutpādajñānānāṃ sarvānye(ṇye)va daśajñānānyālambanam|

nāparam||

nirodhajñānaṃ khalu naiva jñānālambanam||

punarapi daśadharmān sthāpayitvā kasya jñānasya kati dharmā viṣaya iti vācyam| katham ? taducyate-

[485] pañcadharmāstridhātvāptān mārgarūpān sanātanān|
vyutpattyarthaṃ dvidhā kṛtvā darśayejjñānagocaram||

traidhātukān dharmāt(n)pratyekaṃ dvidhā kṛtvā saṃprayuktā viprayuktāśca, apratisaṃyuktāṃśca dvidhā kṛtvā saṃyuktaviprayuktabhedenaiva, asaṃskṛtamapi dvidhākṛtvā kuśalāvyākṛtabhedenaivaṃ kṛtvā daśa bhavanti|

tatra tāvatsaṃvṛtijñānasya sarva eva daśadharmā viṣayaḥ| dharmajñānasya pañca kāmapratisaṃyuktānāsravāḥ saṃprayuktaviprayuktākuśalaṃ cāsaṃskṛtam| anvayajñānasya sapta rūpārūpyapratisaṃyuktānāsravā[:] saṃprayuktaviprayuktakuśalaṃ cāsaṃskṛtam| pari(ra)cittajñānasya trayaḥ kāmarūpapratisaṃyuktānāsravāsaṃprayuktā eva| duḥkhasamudayajñānayoḥ ṣaṭkāmarūpārūpyapratisaṃyuktāsaṃprayuktaviprayuktāḥ| nirodhajñānasyaiko[']saṃskṛtameva kuśalam| mārgajñānasya dvāvanāsravaḥ saṃprayukto viprayuktaśca| kṣayānutpādajñānayornava dharmā viṣayo'saṃskṛtamavyākṛtaṃ muktvā||

idamidānīṃ vaktavyam| kaḥ katibhirjñānaiḥ samanvāgataḥ ? sarvastāvatpṛthagjanaḥ saṃvṛtijñānenaiva| ayaṃ tu niyamaḥ-

[486] dṛṅmārge prathame jñāne tribhirjñānaiḥ samanvitaḥ|

dvitīyakṣaṇe tribhiḥ saṃvṛtijñānaduḥkhajñānadharmajñānaiḥ|

caturṣvekaikavṛddhyordhvaṃ virakto'nyamano dhiyā||

ataḥ paraṃ caturṣu cittakṣaṇeṣvekaikaṃ jñānaṃ vardhate| ta[dyathā] duḥkhe'nvayajñāne'nvayajñānaṃ vardhate| samudayadharmajñāne samudayajñānam| nirodhadharmajñāne nirodhadharmajñānam| mārgadharmajñāne mārgadharmajñānaṃ vardhate| samudayanirodhamārgānva[yajñā]neṣu kṣāntiṣu ca nāstyapūrvajñānavṛddhiḥ| sarvatra tu vītarāgasya paracittajñānaṃ vardhata iti vācyam||

abhidharmadīpe vibhāṣāprabhāyāṃ vṛttau saptamasyādhyāyasya prathamaḥ pādaḥ||

saptamādhyāye

dvitīyapādaḥ|

idamidānīṃ vaktavyam| kasyāṃ bhūmau kasyāṃ vāvasthāyāṃ kasya vā pudgalasya kati jñānāni bhāvyante ? tadārabhyate-

[487] tridhyānakāmavairāgye paścime muktivartmani|
maulaghyānaprayoge ca jñeyānāgatabhāvanā||

[488] bālasya smṛtyupasthānadhyānādyutpādane tathā|
prayogamuktimārgeṣu saṃvṛtyānyamanodhiyaḥ||

bālasya khalvādyadhyānatrayavairāgye paścime vimuktimārge mauladhyānaprayogamārge ca smṛtyupasthānādikuśalamūlotpādane ca prayogavimuktimārge ca saṃvṛtijñānasya paracittajñānasya cānāgatabhāvanā veditavyā||

āryasya tu

[489] kṣāntijñānāni bhāvyante svajātīyāni dṛkpathe|

darśa(na)mārge khalu yadyeva saṃmukhībhūtaṃ bhavati kṣāntirvā jñānaṃ vā tajjātīyamevānāgataṃ bhāvyate| nānyajātīyamanyaviṣayaṃ vā pṛthakkāryatvāt|

sāṃvṛtaṃ cānvayajñāne duḥkhahetusamāhvaye||

saṃvṛtijñānaṃ khalu darśaṇa(na)mārge triṣu citteṣu duḥkhasamudayanirodhānvayajñānākhyeṣu bhāvyate| na dharmajñāneṣu, akṛtārthatvādālambanākāraparijayo hi nādyāpi parisamāptaḥ||

kasmātpunaḥ saṃvṛtijñāna tatra bhāvanāṃ gacchati ? taducyate-

[490] samānapratipakṣatvātteṣu mārgāyitatvataḥ|

yathaivānvayakṣāntijñānāni trīṇi tatprahātavyakleśapratipakṣaḥ, tathā tānyapi saṃvṛtijñānāni pratipakṣaḥ| tairapi tatra mārgāyitaṃ nirvedhabhāgīyāvasthāyām|

ato'bhisamayātyākhyaṃ tattrisatyāntalābhataḥ||

ata eva tadābhisamayāntikaṃ saṃvṛtijñānamityākhyāyate| dharmajñāneṣu khalu tadbhāvanāyāmabhisamayamadhyāni syuriti| taccaitadanutpattidharmakamapi saddharmatayā cintyate|

kasmātpunastadanutpattidharmakameva ? śraddhādharmānusāryāśrayeṇa tadutpattipratibaddhatvāt| darśanamārge ca saṃmukhībhūte tannotpannam| tasmādanutpattikadharmameva bhāvanāṃ gacchati| tatpunaretatsaptabhūmikaṃ kāmāvacaraṃ darśanamārgasamānabhūmikaṃ ca| uktā darśanamārgabhāvanā||

bhāvanāmārge vaktavyā|

[491] mārgākhye tvanvayajñāne ṣa[ḍ bhāvya]nte'tha sapta vā|

ṣoḍaśe[tu varta]mānānvayajñānacitte bhāvanāvartmanyavītarāgasya ṣaḍ bhāvyante| saṃvṛtiparacittakṣayānutpādajñānāni hitvā| vītarāgasya tu saptānāgatāni bhāvyante paracittajñānaṃ vardhayitvā|

ānantaryapathe corddhvaṃ bhāvyate nānyacittadhīḥ||

sarāgasyāpi bhāvanāmārge tasmāt ṣoḍaśātkṣaṇādūrdhvaṃ yāvatkāme vīta rāgo bhavati tāvatsarveṣu prayogānantaryavimuktiviśeṣamārgeṣu sapta jñānāni bhāvyante| anyatra paracitakṣayānutpādajñānebhyaḥ||

[492] prahāṇamuktimārgeṣu vināntyāyā vimuktitaḥ|
bhavāgrapratipakṣatvātsaṃvṛtasya na bhāvanā||

dhyānacatuṣṭvārūpyatrayavairāgye pañcasvabhijñāsu, akopyāprativedhe ca vyavakīrṇa[bhāvite ca] dhyāne| śaikṣasya sarveṣvānantaryavimuktimārgeṣu saptaiva jñānāni .............|

[........abhidharmadīpe vibhāṣāprabhāyāṃ vṛttau saptamasyādhyāyasya dvitīyapādaḥ samāptaḥ||]

tṛtīyapādaḥ |.....

.........sthānavastuhetuvipākaprativistarairboddhavyam| tatrātītānāgate pratyutpanne ca [ta]dākṣeptākṣepavaicitryaṃ pratikarmasamādānaṃ bhavati| kiciddhi sahasā pratyayavṛ(va)śātkriyate| kiñcid dṛṣṭacetasā| kiñcitpunaḥ samādāya kriyate tena karmaṇā mayā jīvi[tavya]miti| tathā dharmo'yamadharmo veti samādāyāsamādāya karoti| sthānādipravibhāgataśca gāmbhīryaṃ boddhavyam| tatra sthānamāyatyutpattyāyattānāmavakāśakāraṇāt| heturapi yena hetunā kriyate| yathoktam-“vastu sthānādhikaraṇamucyate| sādhikaraṇaṃ vastu sthānam| tadyathā prāṇivadhakarmaṇaḥ svabhāvaḥ| sa ca prāṇī yasya cārthe vadhyate yayā pratyayasāmagryā sarvametadvastu sambhavati| kutaḥ ? sthānahetuvipākānāṃ pṛthagukteḥ| yasya khalveta[t] sthānaṃ yaccāsya sthānaṃ kriyate yasya tatkarma hetuḥ, yaddhetukaṃ ca tat, ayaṃ cāsya karmaṇo vipāko'yamanyasya” iti| tadetadaṣṭajñānasvabhāvaṃ nirodhamārgajñāne hitvā||

[493] dhyānādīnāṃ svabhāvādāvavyāghātavisāri yat|
ghyānādijñānasaṃjñaṃ tannavajñānamayaṃ balam||

dhyānavimokṣasamādhisamāpatti jñānabalaṃ khalu yatsaṃkleśavyavadānavyavasthānaviśuddhiṣu nivṛttipakṣe dhyānānāṃ vimokṣāṇāṃ samādhīnāṃ samāpattīnāṃ ca saṃkleśavyavadānavyavasthānaviśuddhiṣu yadbalamavyāhatam| tatra saṃkleśādicatuṣṭayaṃ hāni(na)viśeṣasthitinirvedhabhāgīyaṃ sāsvādaśuddhakānāsravādibhedāt| tadetaddhyānavimokṣasamādhisamāpattijñānabalaṃ navajñānātmakaṃ boddhavyam||

[494] yatsattvākṣamṛdutvādau paricchede pravartate|
akṣottamāvarajñānabalaṃ tannavadhīmayam||

indriyaparāparajñānabalam yatsarvasattvānāṃ śreyaḥprāptiśaktitraividhye jñānamavyāhataṃ tadindriyaparāparajñānabalaṃ navajñānātmakaṃ nirodhajñānaṃ hitvā||

[495] yatsattvādhirucitraidhe hīnādau sampravartate|
nānādhimuktidhīsaṃjñe balaṃ tacca navātmakam||

yatkhalu sarvasattvānāṃ hīṇa(na)madhyamottamādhimuktiṣvavyāhataṃ jñānaṃ tacca nānādhimuktijñānabalaṃ navajñānātmakameva nirodhajñānaṃ hitvā||

[496] yannānādhātvapekṣākhyaṃ sattvārthāya pravartate|
navajñānamayaṃ tadvattannānādhātudhībalam||

te punaḥ pūrvābhyāsavāsanādhātavaḥ pūrvajanmasu guṇadoṣavidyāśilpakarmābhyāsebhyo yā vāsanāstāḥ khalviha dhātavo viśeṣeṇa boddhavyāḥ| gotrārtheṇā(nā)vasthānāṃ ta evāśayā ityavagantavyāḥ, tadvaśāccari(ratī)tyucyate| uktaṃ ca bhagavatā-“dhātuśaḥ sattvāḥ saṃsyandante” iti||

[497] gatidharmāryabhedaṃ yadvetti pratyayabhedataḥ|
taddhiyo daśa sarvatragāminīpratipadbalam||

yatkhalu sattvopapattinirvartakeṣu tatkṣayakareṣu ca dharmeṣu jñānamavyāhataṃ tatsarvatragāminīpratipajjñānabalam| bhavyaviśeṣauṣadhavad draṣṭavyam| mokṣabhavyānāṃ nānādhātūnāṃ sattvānāmanekadhātūnāṃ sarvakleśaprahāṇāyauṣadhaviśeṣavatsāmānyapratipakṣaviśeṣapratipakṣaṃ ca sarvatra jānīte gatihetuṃ cānena dhāturekasantāne yo yadgatacittastadvaśena tadavataraṇabhavyo'bhavyaśca bhavati tatsarvaṃ yathāvatpratijānātīti sarvākārajñatāpyuktā bhavati| tadetat saphalamārgaprahāṇāddaśajñānātmakaṃ bhavati| kecittu kevalamārgagrahaṇānnavajñānātmakam||

[498] yat svānyātītajanmekṣisaṃvṛtijñānasaṃjñakam|
prāgjātyānusmṛtijñānabalaṃ tatsaphalaṃ matam||

svaparasantā nikānāmatītajanmaparamparāṇāṃ vicitrasukhaduḥkheṣu prāṇiṣvayamamuṣyakarmaṇo vipāko'yamamuṣyasvapnanimittaghyāyimanasikāracihnārthāvadhāraṇavadanekavidhasambandhāvabodhavaśitvamasya sūcitaṃ bhavati| yathā khalu bhavyārthasūcakāni(n) svapnānanekaśo dṛṣṭvā tāṃścārthānabhiniṣpannāt(n) prāyaśaḥ sadṛśānapekṣa(kṣya) niścayo bhavati tadvaditi| yathā ca dhyāyināṃ manasikāreṣu dharmacihnānyutpadyante taiśca suvyakto dharmaparicchedo bhavati| tadvatsarvadharmeṣu mudrā bhagavato viditā| kiṃ punastatkarma vipākasambandhamudrāsviti ? tadetadbalaṃ saṃvṛtijñānātmakameva||

[499] sattvānāṃ cyutisambhūtyorjñānamanyādhvavṛtti yat|
taccyutyutpattibuddhyākhyaṃ balaṃ pūrvavaducyate||

divyacakṣurāśrayācca jñānātkarmaphalavaicitryacaritāvataraṇajñānaparapratyayo bhavati| pratyutpannaviṣayamapyevam| taddivyacakṣurāśrayajñānaṃ saha praṇidhijñānenāparānte prabhāvyate| tadetatsaṃvṛtijñānātmakameva||

[500] āsravakṣayadhīsaṃjñaṃ ṣaḍjñānānyathavā daśa|

ata idānīṃ bhagavato vineyakāryaṃ kimavaśiṣṭam ? āsravakṣayaḥ| tasminyajjñānaṃ yasya yadā yairavataraṇadeśanāvidhibhirakṛcchreṇa saṃpadyate tadbhagavān sarvākāramanena jñānena vetti nānyaḥ kaścit| ato'syaiva tadbalaṃ nānyasya| tatpunaretat ṣaḍjñānasvabhāvaṃ daśātmakaṃ vā| yadyāsravakṣaye jñānam, ṣaḍbhavanti| paracittaduḥkhasamudayamārgajñānāni hitvā| atha sopāye kṣaye jñānaṃ darśaṇaṃ(naṃ) bhavati, [daśajñānāni bhavanti]|

ukto daśabalasvabhāvaḥ|

ākāraṇi(ni)yamo vaktavyaḥ| so'yamucyate-
ṣoḍaśākāramantrā(trā)dyamanyaiścāpyuttaraṃ bhuvā||

[501] saptamaṃ ṣoḍaśākāramavibhaktākṛtidvayam|
aṣṭākāraṃ dvitīyaṃ tu navajñānamayaṃ tu yat||

[502] tathāgatabalaṃ proktaṃ tajjñeyaṃ dvādaśākṛti|

sthānāsthānajñānabalaṃ ṣoḍaśabhirākāraiḥ pravartate| anyaiśca tannirmuktairāsravakṣayajñānabalamapi yadi sopāyaṃ kṣayaṃ vivakṣati tadapi ṣoḍaśākāram| atha kṣayamātraṃ tat, ṣaḍjñānamayairākāraiḥ sarvatragāminīṃ pratipajñā(jjñā)nabalaṃ saptamaṃ tadapi tathaiva ṣoḍaśākāram| dvayaṃ tu pūrvenivāsānusmṛticyutyupapattijñānabalamavibhaktākārabalam| dvitīyaṃ tu karmavipākajñānabalamaṣṭākāram| yattu samādhisamāpattijñānabalaṃ tasya navajñānasvabhāvaṃ taireva dvādaśabhirākāraiḥ pravartate| anyadyannoktaṃ tadabhyūhyam|

kiṃ punaḥ kiṃ gocaram ?

sarvagocaramatrādyamantyaṃ śāntyavalambi dhā(vā)||

sarvaviṣayaṃ sthānāsthānabalam| āsravakṣayajñānabalaṃ nirvāṇaviṣayaṃ vā catuḥsatyaviṣayaṃ vā||

[503] dvidhā [hetubhavālambaṃ] saptamaṃ satyagocaram|

karmavipākajñānabalaṃ bhavaviṣayam| sarvatragāminī pratipa[t]jñānabalaṃ catuḥsatyālambanam|

atītādyaddhi dhātvarthamaṣṭamaṃ samudāhṛtam||

pūrveṇi(ni)vāsānusmṛtijñānabalaṃ ‘atītādyaddhi’ dhātugocaram||

[504] navamaṃ khalu rūpārthaṃ saṃskṛtālambyate param|

cyutyupapattijñānabalaṃ rūpāyatanaviṣayam anyadyadavaśiṣṭaṃ tatsaṃskṛtadharmagocaraṃ draṣṭavyam|

atra punaḥ

dvyapekṣo balaśabdo'yaṃ balaṃ tvapratighātataḥ||

parābhibhavāpekṣaśca sarvāpratighātitvena ca| yatkhalu [a]pratihatasāmathya tadbalamityucyate| mānasaṃ balaṃ daśavidhaṃ bhagavato vyākhyātam||

kāyikamapyabhidhīyate-

[505] [sandhau] sandhau ca buddhasya kāye ṇa(nā)rāyaṇaṃ balam|

spraṣṭavyamadhikaṃ tattu daśa hastyādisaptakāt||

nārāyaṇaṃ nāma balamucyate| tacca bhagavato marmaṇi marmaṇi vidyate| nāgagranthiśaṅkalāśaṅkusandhayaśca yathākramaṃ buddhapratyekabuddhacakravartiṇaḥ(naḥ)|

kiṃ pramānaṃ(ṇaṃ) punastannārāyaṇaṃ balam ? yatkhalu daśānāmitarahastīnāṃ balaṃ [ta]dekasya gandhahastinaḥ| evaṃ daśottaravṛttyā mahānagni(gna) praskandivarāṅgacānūraṇā(nā)rāyaṇānāṃ vācyam| airāvana(ṇa)sahasrasyetyanye| sa hi devodyānayātrāsamaye trayastriṃśacchirasamātmānamabhinirmāyātyadbhutavicitrodyānāyāyamānāni tāvantyeva devakulānyanekasahasraparivārāṇi bhūrjapatravadādāya gacchaḥyeṣa balasamudayastasya| evaṃ tu [varṇayanti] mānasabalavadanantaṃ kāyikamapi balaṃ buddhānāṃ bhagavatāmiti| tatpunaḥ kāyikaṃ balaṃ spṛṣṭavyāyatanasaṃgṛhītam| gurutvena balasaṃgraho laghutvena daurbalyasyeti varṇayanti|

[506] svaparārthāntasamprāpte(rvai)śāradyacatuṣṭayam|
ādyantabalarūpe dve dve karma pratipaddhiyoḥ||

sūtra uktam-“samyaksambuddhasya vata me sata ime dharmāstvayā'nabhisambuddhāḥ” iti vistaraḥ| [atra hi prathama]dvitīyābhyāṃ svārthasampadbhagavatodbhāvitā| pūrveṇa jñānasampat| dvitīyeṇa(na) prahāṇasampat| dvābhyāmanyābhyāṃ parārthasampadā darśitā vyavadānasaṃklelodbhāvanāt|

kataratpunarvaiśāradyaṃ kati jñānātmakam ? taducyate| sthānāsthānabalarūpamādyam| āsravakṣayajñānarūpaṃ dvitīyam| karmasvakajñānabalaṃ tṛtīyam| sarvatragāminīpratipa[t]jñānabalaṃ caturthaṃ vaiśāradyam| tadyāvajjñānasvabhāvānyetāni valāni tāvatsvabhāvāni yathākramaṃ catvāri vaiśāradyāni boddhavyāni|

sūtra uktam-“trīṇīmāni smṛtyupasthānāni yānyāryaḥ sevate” iti vistaraḥ| teṣāṃ puṇa(na)ridaṃ lakṣaṇam-

[507] śrotṛsampattrayāpekṣā trividhā smṛtyupasthitiḥ|
saṃsmārāhitasāmarthyasaṃprajanyasvalakṣaṇā||

śuśrūṣakāśuśrūṣakādibhedādvineyāṇāṃ(nāṃ) traividhyena vyavasthānam| śuśrūṣakādivargatrayābhisandheḥ| svabhāvaḥ punaḥ smṛtiviśiṣṭasaṃprajanyatrayasvabhāvāni trīṇi smṛtyupasthānāni| smṛtiviśiṣṭasaṃprajanyato hi bhagavataḥ śuśrūṣamānā(ṇā)śuśraṣamāna(ṇa)tadubhayayukteṣu vineyasamūheṣu nānando bhavatyāghāto vā||

mahākaruṇā punaḥ

[508] saṃvṛtijñānarūpatvāddīrghakālānusārataḥ|
sarvatra samavṛttyāderbaddhasyaiva mahākṛpā||

yadā śrāvakasyāpi karūṇā vidyate pratyekabuddhasyāpi kasmād buddhasyaiva mahākṛpetyucyate ? yasmādiyaṃ saṃvṛtijñānasvabhāvā śrāvakādīnāmadveṣasvabhāvā buddhasya ca dīrghakālānugatā sūkṣmānugatā sarvasattvasamagrahapravṛttā sarvatrānugatā ca dvātriṃśanmahāpuruṣa[lakṣaṇa]vidyotitaśarīrādhyāsinī daśabalaparigṛhītā ca| tasmād buddhasyaiva bhagavato mahākṛpetyucyate| uktā asādhāraṇaguṇāḥ||

śrāvakasādhāraṇā ucyante-

[509] araṇā praṇidhijñānaṃ catasraḥ pratisaṃvidaḥ|
arhatsāntānikā hyete pañca tu prāntakoṭikāḥ||

[510] itarairapi sāmānyā apramādādayo guṇāḥ|
eṣāṃ yathopadiṣṭāṇāṃ(nāṃ) śṛṇu vakṣyāmi lakṣaṇam||

tatra tāvat|
[511] araṇā saṃvṛtijñānaṃ nṛjā'ntyadhyānaniśrayāt|
āryasantānikā jātā savastukamalekṣiṇī||

iha kaścidarhannakopyadharmā sarvakleśaprahāṇātparamāmṛtasukhamanubhavatyevaṃ cittamutpādayati-kathaṃ nāma pare'pi [i]me santānālambanād kleśān notpādayeyuḥ kathañca tamaniṣṭaphalaṃ nānubhaveyuḥ| caturthaṃ dhyānaṃ vivṛddhikāṣṭhāgataṃ samāpadya tathā karoti yathā'sya cāravihāragatasya santāne na kaścitkleśamutpādayati|

[512] praṇidhijñānamapyevaṃ sarvadharmāvalambi tu|
akopyadharmano(ṇo) khyāte tathaiva pratisaṃvidaḥ||

praṇidhijñānamapi saṃvṛtijñānasvabhāvaṃ prāntakoṭika caturthadhyānalābhāt, arhadyadyatpraṇidhatte tattajjānīte praṇidhijñānasya sarvadharmālambanatvāt||

pratisaṃvidaḥ khalvapi

[513] vivakṣitārthasambandhināmasaṃmohabhedinī|
ādyā'nyā tadabhivyaṅgyā jñeyā jñānavicāriṇī||

[514] tṛtīyā śabdasaṃskārā jñānasaṃmohaghātinī|
turīyā tu prabandhoktirdhyānādyutpādanonmukhī||

tatra dvādaśāṅgapravacanasaṃgṛhīteṣu vakṣyamānā(ṇā)rthasambandhiṣu vivakṣiteṣu nāmakāyādiṣu yadavivartyaṃ jñānaṃ sā dharmapratisaṃvit| tadavadyotyeṣu paurūṣeyāpauruṣeyasambandheṣu parārthasaṃvṛtyartharāśiṣu yadavivarttyaṃ jñānaṃ sā'rthapratisaṃvit| nāmakāyādivācaka eva vākchabdeṣvarūpadravyaliṅgasaṃkhyāsādhanakriyākālapuruṣo pagrahasambandhini yadavivarttyaṃ jñānaṃ sā niruktipratisaṃvit| dharmārthaniruktiṣu ghyānavimokṣasamādhisamāpattivaśitvasaṃprakhyāne yadavivartyaṃ jñānaṃ sā pratibhāna[prati]saṃvit|

ta ete ṣaḍguṇāḥ prāntakoṭikamityucyante||

kā kati bhūmikāḥ punarāsāṃ pratisaṃvidāṃ kā vā kati jñānamayī ? tadavadyotyate-

[515] arthākhyā khalu sarvatra ṣaḍjñānānyathavā nava|

arthapratisaṃvit sarvāsu bhūmiṣu kāmadhātau yāvadbhavāgre ṇa(na)vajñānasvabhāvā ṇi(ni)rodhajñānaṃ varjayitvā ṣaḍjñānā[ni] nirvāṇasye(syai)va paramārthatvāt, paracittaduḥkhasamudayamārgajñānāni varjayitvā|

pratibhānāhvayāpyevaṃ daśajñānamayī tvasau||

pratibhānapratisaṃvidapi sarvāsu bhūmiṣu daśajñānamayī|

[516] [kāme ghyāneṣu dharmākhyā] tadanyā tvādyakāmayoḥ|

dharmapratisaṃvit kāmadhātau caturṣu dhyāneṣu niruktipratisaṃvit kāmadhātau prathame ca ghyāne|

saṃvṛtijñānamayyau tu dve ete pratisaṃvidau||

ubhe apyete saṃvṛtijñānasvabhāve dharmaniruktipratisaṃvidāviti||

abhidharmadīpe vibhāṣāprabhāyāṃ vṛttau saptamasyādhyāyasya tṛtīyaḥ pādaḥ samāptaḥ||

caturthapādaḥ|

pṛthagjanasādhāraṇāḥ idānīmabhijñādayo guṇā vaktavyāḥ| ta ima ucyante-

[517] ri(ṛ)ddhau śrotre'nyacitte prāgbhāve cyutyudaye kṣaye|
jñānasākṣātkriyā'bhijñā ṣaḍvā dhī[:] muktivartmani||

jñānasākṣātkriyā khalu vimuktimārgasaṃgṛhītā'bhijñetyucyate| keṣāṃ punarguṇānāṃ jñānasākṣātkriyā ? tadapadiśyate| ri(ṛ)ddhipādadivyaśrotracetaḥ- paryāyapūrvenivāsānusmṛticyutyupapādāsravakṣayajñānānāṃ yā jñānasākṣātkriyā sā'bhijñā| abhijānātītyabhijñāyate vā tayeti abhijñā|

kasmātpunarvimuktimārga ye(e)vābhijñā śrāmanya(ṇya)phalavat [[na] ānantarya]mārgasvabhāvāḥ ? paracittajñānasyānantaryamārgapratiṣedhādarhataścāsravakṣayānantaryamārgatyāge kasyacinnirabhijñatvaprasaṃgāt||

āsāṃ punaḥ

[518] catasraḥ saṃvṛtijñānaṃ pañca jñānāni cittadhīḥ|
sarvāsravakṣayābhijñā ṣaḍjñānānyathavā daśa||

cetaḥparyāyāsravakṣayābhijñe hitvā| cetaḥparyāyābhijñā pañcajñānāni dharmānvayamārga[saṃvṛtipara]cittajñānāni| āsravakṣayajñānasākṣātkriyā'bhijñā ṣaḍjñānāni daśa vā paracittaduḥkhasamudayamārgajñānāni hitvā ‘athavā daśe’ti||

[519] ṣaṣṭhī sarvatra pañcānyā maulīṣu dhyānabhūmiṣu|

āsravakṣayajñānasākṣātkriyā sarvāsu bhūmiṣu| śeṣā maulīṣu catasṛṣu dhyānabhūṣviti|

yatnavairāgyato labhyāḥ svabhūmyadharagocarāḥ||

sarvāḥ [abhijñāḥ] yatnato labhyante vairāgyataśca| tatrānucitā yatnataḥ| ucitā vairāgyataḥ| janmāntarābhyastāḥ khalvabhijñā vairāgyato labhyante| vaiśeṣikyo yatnataḥ| ‘svabhūmyadharagocarā’ścaitāḥ| ri(ṛ)ddhyā svabhūmiṃ gacchatyapa(dha)rāṃ ca bhūmim| nirmitanirmāṇamapyevam| divyaśrotrābhijñayāpi svabhūmikamadho[bhūmikaṃ] ca śabdaṃ śṛṇoti| evaṃ paracittajñānaṃ pūrvenivāsānusmṛtijñānaṃ ca| cyutyupapādābhijñayā ca svādhobhūmiviṣayaṃ rūpaṃ jānāti||

katamā punarāsāṃ kati smṛtyupasthānāni ?

[520] smṛtyupasthitayastistraścetaḥparyāyadhīrmatā|
ṛddhiśrotrākṣyabhijñāsnu prathamā smṛtyupasthitiḥ||

paracittābhijñā trīṇi smṛtyupasthānāni kāyasmṛtyupasthānaṃ hitvā| cittacaittālambanā khalveṣā| ṛddhiśrotracakṣurabhijñāḥ kāyasmṛtyupasthānaṃ rūpālambanatvāt| ṛddhiḥ khalu caturbāhyāyatanālambanā| divyaśrotracakṣuṣī yathākramaṃ śabdarūpāyatanālambane|

kuśalādibhedena tu

[521] divyamavyākṛtaṃ śrotraṃ netraṃ cānyā śubhā matāḥ|

divyaśrotracakṣuṣī kilāvyākṛte| tacca na| abhijñānāṃ vimuktimārgasvabhā[vyāccakṣuḥśrotravijñānayoścā]vikalpatvādvimuktijñānānutpattiḥ| caturṣu dhyāneṣu tu asti prajñāviśeṣaḥ svabhūmikabhūtaphalo yatsaṃmukhībhāvātsvabhūmikaphalameva cakṣuḥśrotraṃ saṃmukhībhāvaṃ gacchati| yattaccakṣuḥśrotravijñānayorāśrayī bhavati tasmānna tadvijñāne saṃprayuktā prajñā'bhijñeti|

kathaṃ punaretayorabhijñāśabdaḥ ? taducyate-

abhijñāphalatā'bhijñā [manovijñānaprajñayā]||

abhijñāphalamā(ma)trābhijñāśabdenoktam| manovijñānasaṃprayuktayā tu prajñayā'bhijānātīti| saivābhijñā nirūpakatvāt|

kati punarāsāṃ vidyā ?

[522] tisro vidyā matāstryadhvasa(saṃ)mohādivyudastaye|
ekā svabhāvato'śaikṣī dve tvaśaikṣāśrayodayāt||

pūrvaṇi(ni)vāsacyutyupapādāsravakṣayajñānatatsākṣā[t]tkriyāstisraḥ khalvaśaikṣyo [vidyā ucyante| kasmādetā eva ? eta] eva tisro vidyāḥ yasmādābhiravidyātrayaṃ vinivartate| pūrvenivāsābhijñā[jñayā]pūrvāntasaṃmohaḥ nivartate| cyutyupapādābhijñayā tvaparāntasaṃmoho nivartate| āsravakṣayābhijñayā madhyādhvasaṃmohaḥ|

yadyapi ca tisro'pyaśaikṣāstathāpi ‘ekā svabhāvato'śaikṣī dve tvaśaikṣāśrayodayāt’| antyā vā'śaikṣī svabhāvataḥ santānataśca| ādye dve tvaśaikṣasantānādaśaikṣāvityucyante|

kati punarāsāṃ prātihāryāṇi ?

[523] ri(ṛ)ddhicittakṣayābhijñā pratihāryatrayaṃ smṛtam|
harato dve kuśāstṛbhyo mārebhyo harate param||

ṛddhyādeśanāprātihārye khalu kuśāstṛbhyaḥ kapilolūkākṣapādādibhyo vineyajanacittamapahṛtya buddhe bhagavati paramārthaśāstari saṃniyojayataḥ| anuśāsanāpratihāryaṃ mārebhyo'pahṛtya sarvajñaṃ mārgadeśike pravare pratiṣṭhāpayati||

kā punariyamṛddhiḥ ?

[524] samādhirṛ(dhī)ddhirityuktā phalamaiśvaryaṣṭadhā|
dvidhaitadgatinirmāṇe trividhā gatiriṣyate||

ṛddhiḥ khalu samādhirūpā tatphalatvāttu prātihāryamṛddhiratyuktaṃ sūtre| aṅgaparigṛhīte samādhau sati sarvametatprātihārya mṛddhyati| tasmātsamādhireva ri(ṛ)ddhiḥ| tasyāḥ phalamaṣṭaguṇamaiśvaryamani(ṇi)mādi|

yacca sūtre'padiṣṭamekānekayathecchitarūpāvasthānādistatpunaretamṛddhiphalaṃ dvividhaṃ gatiśca nirmāṇaṃ ca| gatirapi trividhā| tatra

[525] manomayī gati[:] śāsturicchāmātrapravṛttitaḥ|
adhimokṣakṛtā'nyeṣāṃ tato dehābhivāhinī||

manojavāḥkhalu ṛddhirbuddhasyaiva| manasa iva javastasyāḥ| yāvatā kālena cakṣurvijñānaṃ nīlaṃ pratipadyate yāvatā kālena bhagavāñccharīreṇa sarvalokāntarāṇi vyāpnotyanantarddhiśarīrā hi buddhā bhagabanto[']nābhogena yathecchitābhiprāyasiddheḥ bhagavato buddhasya| śrāvakādīnāṃ punaḥ śarīravāhinī gatirbhavati yathā devānāṃ pakṣiṇāṃ vā| ādhimokṣikī ca dūramapyāsannamadhimucyāstagamanaṃ saṃpadyate| bāhuprasāraṇamātreṇa sumerumūrddhani prādurbhavati| vyākhyātaṃ samādhiphalam||

gamanaṃ nirmāṇamidānīṃ vaktavm| ta[d]dvividhaṃ kāmāvacaraṃ rūpāvacaraṃ ca| tatra tāvat-

[526] rūpagandharasasparśāḥ kāme nirmāṇamiṣyate|
rūpasparśau matau rūpe sveśarīre'tha vā bahiḥ||

kāmāvacaraṃ khalu bāhyamāyatanacatuṣṭayaṃ nirmīyate| nānyadīśvarakarttṛtvavādābhyupagamaprasaṃgāt| rūpāvacaraṃ tvāyatanadvayaṃ tatra gandharasābhāvāt| tatpunaretat svaśarīre paraśarīre ca draṣṭavyam| etaccaturvidhaṃ nirmāṇaṃ kāmadhātāvevaṃ rūpadhātau draṣṭavyam| ityaṣṭa[vidhaṃ nirmāṇam]|

[kiṃ khalu nirmāṇama]bhijñayā nirmīyate ? kiṃ tarhi ?

[527] abhijñāphalacittena tattāni tu caturdaśa|
ādyadhyānaphalaṃ dve te(tai)rūrdhvabhūmyekavṛddhitaḥ||

prathamadhyānaphale khalu nirmāṇacitte kāmāvacaraṃ prathamadhyānabhūmikaṃ ca, dvitīyadhyānaphalāni trīṇi, tṛtīyadhyānaphalāni catvāri, caturthadhyānaphalāni pañca||

kathaṃ punarnirmāṇacittāni labhyante ?

[528] tallābho dhyānava[t] jñeyaḥ

yathā khalu dhyānāni vairāgyata upapattitaḥ prayogataśca labhyante tathā nirmāṇacittāni|

kathaṃ punastadutpadyate ?

śuddhakācca svataśca tat|

śuddhakād dhyānādanantaraṃ ṇi(ni)rmāna(ṇa)cittamutpādyate nirmāṇacittādeva vā nānyataḥ| tataḥ khalvapi nirmāṇacittādanantaraṃ śuddhakadhyānaṃ nirmāṇacittaṃ cotpadyate nānyat| sarvasya ca nirmitasya

svabhūmenaiva nirmāṇamapa(dha)reṇāpi bhāṣaṇam||

na khalvanyabhūmikaṃ nirmāṇamanyabhūmikena nirmāṇacittena nirmīyate| bhāṣaṇaṃ tu svabhaumenāpa(dha)rabhaumena ca| kāmadhātuprathamadhyānabhūmiko hi nirmitaḥ svabhūmikenaiva cittena bhāṣya(ṣa)te| ūrdhvabhūmikāstu prathamadhyānabhūmikena, tatraiva vijñaptisamutthāpakacittasadbhāvāt||

kiṃ punarnirmitanirmātroḥ kramena(ṇa) vāgbhāṣaṇaṃ bhavatyatha yugapat ? taducyate-

[529] nirmātraiva sahaiteṣāṃ bhāṣaṇaṃ sugatādṛte|

uktaṃ hi
“ekasya bhāṣamāṇasya sarve bhāṣanti nirmitāḥ|
ekasya tūṣṇīṃ bhūtasya sarve tūṣṇīṃ bhavanti te||”

bhagavatastu icchātaḥ pūrvaṃ paścādyugapadvā nirmitā bhāṣante| teṣāṃ punaḥ

ekasya bruvataḥ sarve nirmitā bruvate samam||

[530] adhiṣṭhāya tu nirmāṇaṃ bhāṣante'nyena cetasā|

‘adhiṣṭhāya tu nirmāṇaṃ’ saṃsthāpyetyarthaḥ| anyena cetasā vijñaptisamutpādakākhyena vācaṃ pravartayatītyato'pi nāsti nirmāṇāntardhāṇo(no) doṣaḥ| tatpunaretadadhiṣṭhānaṃ na kevalaṃ jīvata eva| kiṃ tarhi ?

adhiṣṭhānaṃ mṛtasyāpi sthirasyaiva tu vastunaḥ||

āryamahākāśyapādhiṣṭhānena tadasthiśaṃkalāpasthānaśravaṇāt sthirasyāsthilakṣaṇasya na māṃsarudhirādīnāmasti||

kiṃ punarekacittenaikaṃ nirmitaṃ nirmiṇotyatha bahūn ?

[531] ajayyekamanekena jayiṇastadviparyayaḥ|

ādyābhinirhārairbahubhirnirmāṇacittairekaṃ sopādānaṃ ca nirmitaṃ nirmiṇoti| rjitāyāṃ tvabhijñāyāṃ nirmāturicchayā bahūnapyekacittena nirūpādānamapi ca nirmino(ṇo)ti|

tatputaretannirmāṇacittaṃ dvividhaṃ bhāvanāmayamupapattiprātilambhikañca| tatra

avyākṛtamabhijñotthaṃ upapattya tvayaṃ tridhā||

yatkhalu bhāvanāphalaṃ nirmāṇacittaṃ tadavyākṛtaṃ bhavati| upapattiprātilambhikaṃ tu kuśalādi[nā] triprakāram| [tadupapattiphalaṃ] daśātiśayayuktam|

[532] arhatāṃ daśadhā tvetadaiśvaryamupapadyate|
sarvāsravakṣayajñānavimuktidvayayogataḥ||

yadetatadaṇimādiśaikṣāntaṃ daśavidhamaiśvaryasukhaṃ tadatiśayayuktamarhatāmevopapadyate||

yadi tarhi trayāṇāmarhatāmetadaiśvaryaṃ samānamasti kastarhi viśeṣaḥ śāstṛśiṣyayoḥ ? tatredamupadiśyate-

[533] aiśvarya[pi sa]mānesminyathokte śāstṛśiṣyayoḥ|
antaraṃ sumahacchāsturyattatpūrvamudāhṛtam||

daśabalādyāveṇikabuddhaguṇacintāyāṃ catuṣpratyayatā nadyuttaraṇe gandhahastya śvaśaśakadṛṣṭāntaiśca viśeṣāntaraṃ boddhavyamiti||

abhidharmapradīpe vibhāṣāprabhāyāṃ vṛttau saptamasyādhyāyasya caturthaḥ pādaḥ||
